Some things I ought to have known by now

1. Painters never come when they originally said they would. And some come EARLIER, not later.

2. When you're out of the house from 7 am to 8 pm, two days' notice of your whole house being redecorated is not really enough.

3. When you try to fit the contents of four rooms into a single room, there's not an awful lot of space left for wandering about.

4. In view of 3 above, it's a good idea to look round and check whether there's anything in the room you might need to get at before the painters have finished.

I'll be back when the painters have gone and I've had time to beat a path through the room to my laptop...

That's where I am at the moment, on my work computer - but don't like to use the work computer too much for blogging...

what an enjoyable person you are! will have to come back and delve further when there's time, but for now am glad to have read your choice of statue. nicely self-effacing. you fit in well with the brits. (don't know if you're an original or transplant.) :) happy marriage to you.

(do forgive the off-topic comment; not much of a blogger and don't see your address.)

Thanks Jackie and Bubba's Mom - and yes, I am an original, though quite a well-travelled one.
