Oh well, I never really thought otherwise

Now I know the true value of my blog - thanks Amy Caroline. I can't give up the day job yet, then.

How could a blog be worth something? I wondered, when Fr. Tim put a donate button on Hermeneutic of Continuity if he'd receive anything. I wonder if he has? I'm currently considering the cost of blogging; it takes rather a lot of time, don't you think? I'm multi-tasking whilst blogging (couldn't do it otherwise) but still it seems a bit wasteful... I like your blog, though. I'll add it to my roll when I make one...

Thank you. I think the idea behind this valuation is that if you include links to sites that are selling stuff, you're providing advertising, and therefore your blog is worth something in advertising revenue. If you multiplied the amount of time I've spent on my blog over the last few months by the rate at which my firm charges me out, it's 'worth' tens of thousands...

I don't link to advertisers or to sites which sell stuff... how they decided that my blog is worth around $39,000 is a complete mystery...

...I wish someone would tell me... I might consider selling it!!

(heheheheh... only kidding!)

Hmmm, no - it's bizarre. I read on the blurb somewhere that it's to do with the number of sites that you link to - maybe it just assumes ANY link is for advertising purposes. Or maybe it just recognises the quality of your writing...
