Hmmm - really?

I drove past a church the other day which had a sign very similar to this outside it:


I wonder... Given that this isn't a Catholic church and there was a boardroom coup a few centuries ago, is this claim strictly accurate?

Given that there was no church as such until around 300CE and that there was a huge "parting due to musical differences" around 1050 between the east and west I'm not sure anyone can claim 2000 years.

This is a common belief among Protestants...that the Church was just blandly Christian in the beginning. Some Baptists maintain that they were around since the beginning of church history though.
